Bio rules, briefly
Bios show on your profile under your display name, hold up to 1,000 characters, and go through Roblox's text filter — flagged words come out as hashtags, and links get stripped, so keep them out. Emoji and symbols are fine here, even though they are not allowed in display names. Pair a bio with a display name, pick a permanent handle with the username generator and check it is free, then finish the look with an avatar from our avatar ideas.
Roblox bio questions
How long can a Roblox bio be?
Up to 1,000 characters. Almost nobody needs that — every bio on this page is under 60 characters, because a short line reads better on a profile than a paragraph. The bio lives in the About section of your profile, under your display name.
Why does my Roblox bio show hashtags?
Roblox runs every bio through its text filter, and anything it flags gets replaced with # symbols. Links, phone numbers, other usernames on other platforms and anything that reads as personal information are the usual triggers, and accounts under 13 are filtered more strictly. All the bios on this page are written to pass clean.
Can I use emojis and symbols in my Roblox bio?
Yes — bios are far more permissive than display names. Most emoji, punctuation and decorative symbols work fine in a bio, while display names only allow letters, numbers and underscores. The exception is links: Roblox strips or filters most of them, so leave URLs out.
How do I change my Roblox bio?
Open Settings, go to Account Info, and edit the About box, then save. It is free and there is no cooldown — you can change it as often as you like, unlike your display name, which can only be changed once every 7 days.
What should I not put in a Roblox bio?
Anything personal: your real full name, age, school, phone number, address or usernames for other apps. The filter catches most of it anyway, and what slips through is visible to everyone on the platform. Stick to jokes, vibes and what you play.
