The characters everyone knows
The Noob
Yellow head and arms, blue shirt, green pants — the default look of early Roblox and now the platform’s unofficial mascot. Being called a noob started as an insult and became a badge of honour; the classic colours are worn deliberately by veterans. See the full history on our Noob avatar page.
Builderman
The friendly hard-hat account of Roblox co-founder David Baszucki. Every new player once got a welcome message from Builderman, making him the first "character" most people ever met on the platform.
Guest
The grey-and-white anonymous account type that let people play without signing up, removed in 2017. Guests could not chat, which spawned years of jokes and the Guest 666 creepypasta — a "haunted guest" myth that is pure fiction but refuses to die.
1x1x1x1
The platform’s legendary "hacker" boogeyman. In reality 1x1x1x1 was a test account referenced in old lore by Shedletsky, but a decade of myths turned it into Roblox’s most famous villain. No, it cannot hack you.
John Doe & Jane Doe
Test accounts created in 2005 and owned by Roblox itself. The "John Doe will hack you on March 18th" panic recycles every year — the accounts are dormant, official, and harmless.
Shedletsky (Telamon)
John Shedletsky, Roblox’s first creative director, whose in-game character Telamon became folklore — "Telamon magic" was the running explanation for anything weird happening on the platform.

Character questions
The characters everyone knows are the Noob, Builderman, Guest, 1x1x1x1, John Doe and Jane Doe, and Telamon — platform figures and folklore rather than characters from one game. Individual games add their own casts on top.
The Noob — the yellow-blue-green default avatar is recognised far beyond Roblox itself and doubles as the platform’s mascot.
John Doe is a real but dormant Roblox-owned test account and completely harmless. Guest 666 is fan-made creepypasta — there is nothing haunted in Roblox.
