Ranked by how many people are playing them right now, not by opinion — across 13 genres, refreshed every few hours.
Every “best Roblox games” list has the same problem: somebody wrote it once, and Roblox moved on. A game that was inescapable last spring can be empty by autumn, and a hand-curated top ten has no way of noticing. So this one is not hand-curated. It is generated from our own Roblox catalogue, ordered by live concurrent players, and re-ranked every few hours.
Ranking by live players is not a perfect definition of “best”, and it is worth being honest about that. It favours the enormous social games over the brilliant small ones. What it does do is answer the question people are actually asking — what is worth loading right now, with enough other people in it to work — and it never lies about what is still alive.
Each row shows live players, lifetime visits and the like ratio where Roblox publishes vote counts, so you can see the difference between a game that is popular and a game that is liked. Those are not the same thing, and the gap between them is usually the most interesting number on the page.

Roblox has a genre field, and it is very nearly useless. Around three quarters of the live games in our catalogue are filed under the literal value “All”, and the buckets that do exist are the legacy 2010s list — Town and City, Naval, Western — rather than the categories anyone actually searches for. There is no Roblox genre for obby, tycoon, tower defense or anime.
So we classify on keyword signals from each game’s name and description, and use Roblox’s own label only as a supporting vote where it is meaningful. Every rule is tuned for precision over recall: it is better for a list to be short and correct than long and full of games that do not belong.
Games can legitimately appear on more than one list. An anime tower defense game is genuinely both, and pretending otherwise would make both lists worse.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Roblox game right now?
The top of the list above, generated from live player counts rather than from an opinion. “Best” on Roblox is genuinely contested, but “what are the most people choosing to be inside at this moment” is a fact, and it turns out to be a good proxy.
How is this different from other best Roblox games lists?
Most are hand-written once and then left alone, so they recommend games that peaked two years ago. This page re-ranks itself every few hours, so a game that is dying drops off without anyone editing anything.
Are all these games free?
Yes. Every game on Roblox is free to enter. They make money from in-game purchases with Robux. The like ratio column is a decent early warning for aggressive monetisation, since players downvote it reliably.
How often does this page update?
Player counts refresh several times a day straight from Roblox, and the page regenerates on a three-hour cycle. There is no manual curation step.
Can I play these on mobile?
Almost all of them. Roblox games have to support touch controls to reach the platform’s biggest audience. The exceptions in practice are competitive shooters, which work on touch but put you at a disadvantage.
