Roblox Error Code 277 — What It Means & How to Fix It

Error code 277 means you lost connection to the game server. Error 277 means the connection between you and the game server dropped and Roblox could not recover it. It is almost always a network problem on one side — yours or Roblox’s.

1. Check whether it is Roblox, not you

If friends are also disconnecting, Roblox may be having server trouble — check Roblox’s status page. When it is platform-wide the only fix is waiting.

2. Restart your router and device

The classic fix works because 277 is usually a dropped route. Power-cycle the router, restart the device, rejoin.

3. Prefer stable networks

Wi-Fi at the edge of range, mobile hotspots and public networks all drop packets. Move closer to the router or use a wired connection on PC.

4. Clear the Roblox cache

A corrupted cache can break reconnection. Clear it (see our cache guide) and launch fresh.

Common questions

Why do I get 277 in long sessions?

Long sessions expose flaky connections — a brief outage any time in an hour ends the session. Wired beats wireless for marathon play.

Does 277 mean the game is broken?

Occasionally a specific server crashes; joining a different server of the same game works around it.
