How to Get a Private Server in Roblox

A private server is your own instance of a game — just you and the people you invite. Some games sell them, a surprising number give them away free.
1. Check the game supports them
On the game’s page, scroll to the Servers section at the bottom. If the creator has switched private servers on you will see a Create Private Server button with the price — set by the developer, from free to hundreds of Robux monthly.
2. Create and name it
Buy or claim the server, name it, and it appears under Servers whenever you visit the game. Paid servers charge again on the same date each month, taken straight from your Robux balance; cancel from the server’s three-dot menu and it runs until the period ends.
3. Invite people
Open the server’s three-dot menu and choose Configure. You can let in your whole friends list or name up to 50 individual players, and create a share link to hand out. Under-13s can only join their friends’ servers.
4. Get them free
A Roblox Plus subscription includes free private servers across supported games — unlimited today, dropping to one free server per game from 24 September 2026. Failing that, plenty of big games price private servers at 0 Robux anyway, so it is worth checking before you pay.

It runs to the end of the period you already paid for, then expires. You can switch the subscription back on from the configure page before that point; once it has expired the server cannot be used again and you buy a new one.
