How to Update Roblox
Roblox updates itself when it launches, but sometimes it gets stuck on an old version and refuses to join games. Updating manually is different on each platform.
1. PC and Mac
Close Roblox fully, then launch it again — the desktop app checks for updates on every start. If it is stuck, uninstall Roblox and reinstall it from roblox.com; your account and items are unaffected, since everything is stored on your account, not the device.
2. iPhone and iPad
Open the App Store, search for Roblox and press Update if the button is showing. Turning on automatic app updates in your device settings prevents the problem recurring.
3. Android
Open the Play Store, find Roblox under Manage apps & device, and update it there. If the Play Store says you are current but Roblox disagrees, clear the Play Store cache and check again.
4. Xbox
Highlight Roblox on the dashboard, press the menu button, and choose Manage game & add-ons, then Updates. Consoles usually auto-update overnight if they are in standby.
Common questions
A corrupted install is the usual cause. Uninstall, restart the device, and reinstall fresh. On PC also clear the Roblox folder in %localappdata% before reinstalling.
No. Everything you own lives on your Roblox account. Reinstalling only replaces the app itself.
