1. Where Roblox has actually been restricted
Around a dozen countries have blocked or restricted Roblox at one time or another — typically over content-moderation and child-safety disputes with regulators. As of August 2026 the blocks in force include Türkiye (since August 2024), Oman, Qatar, Algeria, Iraq and the Palestinian territories (all during 2025) and Egypt (February 2026), alongside China and North Korea, which block it as part of general internet censorship. These are country-level decisions affecting those markets only; they do not affect anyone else.
2. Why bans happen
Governments that restrict Roblox usually cite child-safety concerns, inappropriate user-generated content, or failures to comply with local content laws. Restrictions are not always permanent: Jordan and Kuwait restored access during late 2025 on condition that in-game chat stayed switched off in those markets, and Russia lifted a six-month block in June 2026 after Roblox agreed to gate access by age group in line with local law.

5. Age ratings are the real battleground
Most regulatory action against Roblox worldwide is not about banning it — it is about age ratings, content classification and safety requirements. Those fights produce headlines with the word "ban" in them while actually being negotiations about parental controls and verification, most of which end with Roblox shipping new safety features. Indonesia is the clearest example: rather than block the platform, it required under-16s off accounts from March 2026, and Roblox complied with age checks, content tiers and screen-time controls.
6. If Roblox is blocked where you are
That is between Roblox and your country’s regulator, and it usually moves: Jordan, Kuwait and Russia all had blocks lifted once Roblox made the changes asked of it. Using VPNs to bypass a national block violates Roblox’s terms and often local law — and Roblox blocks many VPN endpoints anyway, which is a common cause of error 403.
