How to Make a Gamepass on Roblox

A gamepass sells a permanent perk in your experience — VIP access, a special tool, double coins. They are created in the Creator Hub, not in Roblox Studio itself.

1. Open your experience in the Creator Hub

Go to the Creator Hub on the Roblox site, pick your experience, and find the Passes section under monetization.

2. Create the pass

Upload a square image (512×512 works well), give the pass a clear name and description that says exactly what the buyer gets. Misleading passes get refund complaints and reports.

3. Set a price

Turn on Sale and set the Robux price. Roblox takes 30% of every sale, so price with that in mind. Small perks sell best under 100 Robux; big perks can go higher once your game has trust.

4. Give the perk in your game

In Studio, check pass ownership with MarketplaceService:UserOwnsGamePassAsync and grant the perk in your code. Without this script the pass sells but does nothing — the most common gamepass mistake.

Common questions

Gamepass or developer product — which one?

A gamepass is bought once and owned forever; a developer product can be bought repeatedly (like in-game currency). Perks = gamepass, consumables = developer product.

Why can’t I find the create option?

Passes are created from the Creator Hub website, not inside Studio. You also need to be the experience owner, or in a group with the right role permissions.
