How to Add Trusted Connections on Roblox

Trusted connections are Roblox’s closer tier of friendship for people you know in real life, unlocking less-filtered chat between verified users. Adding one takes a verification step beyond a normal friend request.

1. Verify your age first

Trusted connections require age verification on your account. Without it the option does not appear.

2. Add the person as a connection

Send or accept a normal connection (friend) request first — trusted status builds on an existing connection.

3. Upgrade to trusted

From their profile, choose the option to make them a trusted connection. For teens, Roblox verifies you know each other in person — typically with a QR code scanned from the other person’s device, or through contact matching.

4. Know what changes

Trusted connections get less-filtered chat with each other. Everything is still logged and moderated for safety — trusted does not mean unmonitored.

Common questions

Why can’t I add someone as trusted?

One of you is not age-verified, or you are not connections yet, or the in-person verification step has not been completed.

Can parents see trusted connections?

Parental controls show who a child is connected with, and parents can manage those permissions from the parent dashboard.
