Press them in order and a factory, restaurant, prison or theme park assembles itself around you. It is a genre about watching something you own get bigger, and the satisfaction is almost entirely architectural.

Tycoons are unusual in that the good ones age extremely well — several of the most-played entries have been running for the better part of a decade, because a well-designed build order does not go stale the way a trend-chasing simulator does.

What makes a good tycoon
The build order has to have shape. In a weak tycoon every button is the same button at a higher price, so the whole game is pressing things left to right. In a strong one the plot changes character as it fills — you unlock a mechanic, not just a multiplier — and there are real decisions about what to buy next when you cannot afford everything.
The second marker is whether anything happens once the plot is full. Tycoons that end at 100% built are over in an afternoon. The ones with staying power add something after: a rebirth that resets you with a permanent bonus, a competitive layer against the other players on the server, or a second plot entirely. Check both the like ratio and how long the game has been running.
Where to start
Start with a themed tycoon rather than a generic one — a theme park, a restaurant, a military base. The theme is doing real work in this genre, because watching a recognisable thing assemble itself is most of the appeal, and generic "money tycoons" strip that out.
Two-player tycoons are worth seeking out if you have a friend. Sharing a plot changes the game completely: you split the build order, and deciding who buys what next is a much better problem than pressing buttons alone.
How this ranking is put together
Every game here comes from our own Roblox catalogue, which refreshes several times a day. A game qualifies as a tycoon on keyword signals from its name and description plus Roblox’s own genre label where that label is actually meaningful — it is not, for most modern games, which is why we do not rely on it alone.
The order is live concurrent players, highest first. We also drop anything whose like ratio has fallen below 50% where Roblox gives us vote counts, because a game people are actively downvoting does not belong on a “best” list however busy it is. Like ratio is shown per game where it is available; Roblox does not publish vote counts for every experience, so some rows show players and visits only.

What is a tycoon game in Roblox?
A game where you own a plot of land with a machine that generates money, and you spend that money on buttons that construct the next piece of your building. Over a session the empty plot becomes a fully built factory, shop or base. It is one of the oldest and most distinctly Roblox formats.
What is a rebirth in a tycoon?
Resetting your progress in exchange for a permanent multiplier, so the next run through the same build order is much faster. It is the standard way tycoons extend past the point where the plot is fully built, and in most games it is the real progression system.
What is the difference between a tycoon and a simulator?
A tycoon gives you a physical plot that visibly assembles as you progress — the building is the reward. A simulator gives you a counter and upgrades that make the counter rise faster. There is overlap, and some games are both, but the tell is whether there is something being constructed in front of you.
Are there two-player tycoons?
Yes, and they are a well-established sub-genre with the mechanic in the title. Two players share one plot and split the build order, which turns a solo button-pressing game into a coordination problem. They are generally the best tycoons to play with a friend.

How long does it take to finish a tycoon?
A basic one can be fully built in an hour or two. The larger ones are tuned around rebirths and are deliberately not finishable in a sitting — those are the ones with the high player counts here, because they are designed to be returned to.
