What makes a Roblox driving game good
Handling model first. Roblox physics will happily give you a car that is either frictionless or nailed to the road, and most driving games land on one of those by accident. The ones people keep playing have a middle ground where the back end steps out predictably, which is what makes drifting feel like a skill instead of a dice roll. You can usually tell inside thirty seconds.
After that it is whether the world gives you a reason to drive. Free-roam maps with nothing in them get abandoned quickly. The durable games all attach a loop to the driving — police chases, deliveries, races that other players can join, a garage worth upgrading — so there is a point to the next lap.
Where to start
If you want races, pick something explicitly built around tracks and lap times rather than an open world, and expect a much steeper handling learning curve. If you want to drive around with friends, the open-world games are the better choice and the high player counts near the top of the list are exactly what you are after.
Vehicle roleplay games are a third thing again — the driving is a means to an end and the actual game is the roleplay. They are on this list because the driving is often excellent, but go in knowing what they are.
How this ranking is put together
Every game here comes from our own Roblox catalogue, which refreshes several times a day. A game qualifies as a racing game on keyword signals from its name and description plus Roblox’s own genre label where that label is actually meaningful — it is not, for most modern games, which is why we do not rely on it alone.
The order is live concurrent players, highest first. We also drop anything whose like ratio has fallen below 50% where Roblox gives us vote counts, because a game people are actively downvoting does not belong on a “best” list however busy it is. Like ratio is shown per game where it is available; Roblox does not publish vote counts for every experience, so some rows show players and visits only.

Are there realistic driving games on Roblox?
Yes, and they are a distinct sub-genre. Several games model gearboxes, tyre grip and damage far more seriously than the platform’s reputation suggests, usually signalling it with "realistic" or "simulator" in the name. They have smaller but much more committed player bases than the arcade games.
Can you drift in Roblox?
Yes — drifting is one of the main things the genre is built around, and several games are dedicated entirely to it with scoring systems for angle and duration. Drift handling is also the clearest quality signal in the genre, since it is the hardest thing to get right in Roblox physics.
Do Roblox car games let you buy cars with Robux?
Most offer it, but the better ones make every car reachable through in-game currency too, with Robux only shortening the grind. Games where the good cars are Robux-only tend to show it in their like ratio.
