Enemies walk a fixed path, you place units along it, and the game is entirely about spending a limited income on the right units in the right order. Roblox’s version adds co-op as standard — most of these games put four or five players on one map, splitting the lane and the budget between them.

What makes a tower defense game good
Unit roles have to be distinct. A well-designed TD roster has units that do jobs rather than damage numbers — something that slows, something that hits air, something that handles a crowd, something that kills one large enemy. When every unit is interchangeable the strategy collapses into "place the highest DPS you own", and the game becomes a wallet check.
The second marker is whether the meta is stable. Tower defense communities solve games quickly, and once a single loadout clears everything the genre’s appeal is gone. The games at the top of this list are there because their developers keep introducing enemies that punish the current optimal strategy, which is much harder than it sounds.
Where to start
Play the tutorial modes properly, which is unusual advice for Roblox. Tower defense is the one genre here where not understanding the systems means you actively hurt your team, and joining a hard mode without knowing what your units do will get you kicked.
Learn one full loadout before you start collecting. New players tend to chase rare units and end up with a roster of powerful things that do not cover each other. A complete set of ordinary units that handles every enemy type clears more content than three exceptional ones that do the same job.

Every game here comes from our own Roblox catalogue, which refreshes several times a day. A game qualifies as a tower defense game on keyword signals from its name and description plus Roblox’s own genre label where that label is actually meaningful — it is not, for most modern games, which is why we do not rely on it alone.
The order is live concurrent players, highest first. We also drop anything whose like ratio has fallen below 50% where Roblox gives us vote counts, because a game people are actively downvoting does not belong on a “best” list however busy it is. Like ratio is shown per game where it is available; Roblox does not publish vote counts for every experience, so some rows show players and visits only.
