Zombie games on Roblox come in two shapes. The wave survival game puts you and a handful of players in a defensible space and sends escalating rounds at you until you fail — it is about ammo economy, positioning and who is watching which door. The open-world outbreak game drops you into a large map with scarce supplies and other players who may or may not shoot you, and the zombies are only half the problem.
Both are ranked together below by live player count. That number matters more here than in most genres, because both formats are co-operative by design: wave survival is tuned for a full squad, and an open-world outbreak with nobody in it is just a walk.

What makes a zombie game hold up
Scarcity has to be real. The whole genre runs on not having enough — ammo, health, time to reload — and games that hand you a strong weapon early collapse into a shooting gallery within two waves. The ones that stay tense keep you slightly under-equipped and force the decision about whether this fight is worth the bullets.
The other thing is whether the zombies do anything other than walk at you. Enemy variety is the difference between wave twenty being harder than wave five and it just being longer. The strongest games in the genre introduce types that break your current strategy — something that flanks, something that forces you out of cover, something you cannot fight at all and have to run from.
Where to start
Start with wave survival rather than open-world. Rounds are short, the rules are legible in the first minute, and you will have three or four other people doing the same thing, which is how the genre is best learned. Bring friends if you can — these games are balanced for co-ordination and are markedly less fun with random players.
Move to the open-world outbreak games once you want the survival layer. They are slower, much harsher, and the real threat is usually the other players, so go in expecting to lose things.

Every game here comes from our own Roblox catalogue, which refreshes several times a day. A game qualifies as a zombie game on keyword signals from its name and description plus Roblox’s own genre label where that label is actually meaningful — it is not, for most modern games, which is why we do not rely on it alone.
The order is live concurrent players, highest first. We also drop anything whose like ratio has fallen below 50% where Roblox gives us vote counts, because a game people are actively downvoting does not belong on a “best” list however busy it is. Like ratio is shown per game where it is available; Roblox does not publish vote counts for every experience, so some rows show players and visits only.

Can you play Roblox zombie games solo?
You can, but most are balanced for a group and get considerably harder alone — wave survival in particular expects several people covering different angles. The open-world games are more solo-friendly, at the cost of other players being a threat rather than an absence.
What is wave survival?
A format where zombies attack in numbered rounds with a short break between them, getting more numerous and more varied each wave. You spend the breaks buying weapons, repairing defences and repositioning. It is the most common zombie format on Roblox and the easiest to pick up.
Are Roblox zombie games scary?
Mostly not in the horror sense — they are action games, and the tension comes from resource pressure rather than dread. A few sit on the border with horror and are genuinely tense. If you want frightening rather than intense, the horror category is the better place to look.
Do zombie games have codes?
